Ambassadors of Change

O Ambassadors is a school-based program created by Oprah’s Angel Network and Free The Children to inspire young people to become active, compassionate and knowledgeable global citizens. The program began in 2006, with Oprah’s Angel Network providing the seed funding, and Free The Children implementing the program. Because of Free The Children’s successful management of the program over the past three years, the Angel Network is pleased to fully transition O Ambassadors to become part of Free The Children’s long-established Youth in Action Program.

Our success

Since 2006, almost 2,000 O Ambassadors Clubs were formed in schools across 47 states in the United States as well as all 10 provinces and two territories in Canada. Of these, about two-thirds are resource-poor schools.

More than $1.1 million was raised to support development initiatives around the world. The
O Ambassadors program is a shining example of our shared belief in the power of young people to change the world.
