Education is the key to unlocking the door to each person’s fullest potential. Despite gains in educational access over the past two decades, approximately 77 million children around the world are still not in school. We know that education can change the trajectory of a child’s life.

Making Change in Education

We commit to supporting educational equity, excellence and innovation for people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds in the United States and around the world.

Here’s some of what we’ve already done:

• Helped build 60 schools in 13 countries, providing education for thousands of children in rural areas
• Built the Seven Fountains Primary School in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, which serves more than 1,000 boys and girls, and is a model for teaching and learning throughout Africa
• Put books in the hands of tens of thousands of children around the world

With your support, we’ll continue to support education around the world. Together, we will:

• Increase access to—and completion of—traditional and non-traditional education programs for people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds
• Enhance leadership and professional development for principals, teachers and other education decision-makers to equip them with the skills to provide the highest quality educational experience for all students
• Develop communities of learning and advocacy for parents, educators, business leaders and other stakeholders to create a network that supports educational access and quality
• Support the creation of 21st century schools by providing access to technology and other educational materials to enhance cutting-edge teaching and learning
