Oprah’s Angel Network

The Angel Network has provided resources and opportunities to people living in under-resourced and impoverished communities across the United States and around the world. Here’s some of what we accomplished:

• Helped more than 1,000 families get back into their homes and helped build or restore more than 400 homes in eight communities across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama for the families impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita (more about Gulf Coast rebuilding)
• Created a recovery center in East Biloxi, Mississippi that’s providing free design services and counseling to more than 3,000 families who lost their homes and livelihoods after Hurricane Katrina
• Revitalized communities in Sri Lanka that were devastated by the 2004 South Asian tsunami, by building homes, re-starting businesses and building a vocational training center, giving people new skills and new job possibilities
