Oprah’s Angel Network

Oprah and the Angel Network’s Board of Directors are extremely grateful to the nearly 150,000 donors who have collectively given more than $80 million to our public charity since it began in 1998.

However, as of May 24, 2010, the Angel Network will no longer be accepting donations and we plan to dissolve as a 501c3 public charity, after final disbursement of funds has been completed.

With the generous support of our donors, we’ve been able to award funds to hundreds of organizations in the United States and in more than 30 countries around the world. This support has helped numerous individuals by improving access to education, protecting basic rights and so much more.

The Angel Network was born from “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and its viewers’ desire to make a difference in the lives of others. As the funding part of our public charity comes to a close, the spirit of the Angel Network will live on through this website. Here you can read stories by community members who are finding ways to give back, or get ideas on how you can reach beyond yourself and help others.

Oprah remains deeply committed to philanthropy, and her new cable network— OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network —will continue to highlight charitable organizations in conjunction with its programming in the years ahead.
